A power shutdown affected the CSULB campus on Friday, March 2 that started around 8 a.m. and went until Sunday, March 4 around 5 p.m. Parking Structures 2 and 3 were closed and Parking Lots 12, 11A and B were provided temporary lightning during these times.
Mark Zakhour, Senior Construction Manager at Cal State Long Beach, sent out an email to students last week explaining the situation, saying "the contractor needs to perform the final power crossover and renovation work required to feed the new lightening and equipment."
The power outage was due to new sports lightning being installed at the George Allen field. Construction on the field is nearing completion.
