Donor funded campus construction projects will be completed this summer.
The Campus Planning Committee, a committee made up of students and faculty and chaired by President F. King Alexander, released a document pertaining to the projects.
Construction will take place on the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Pavilion, where the project will feature a pathway that connects a new entry plaza to the pavilion, as well as a new terrace seating area outside music practice rooms. Improvements to landscaping and 1, 632 square foot renovation within the administrative music building is also in the project.
Construction started in September at the Music Pavilion and has cost $2.5 million.
Pyramid locker rooms are also set to get renovated. There will be an expansion to the men and women's volleyball and basketball locker rooms, as well as upgrade facilities for student athletes who will be competing in the Best West Conference.
Included in the projects are safety improvements to East Campus Drive. A continuous sidewalk from Seventh Street to the east turnaround on the west side of E Campus Drive will be provided. Neighboring properties surrounding the street will be shielded by additional landscaping to the area.
The Campus Planning Committee meets twice a year to present new
projects that are submitted to the chancellor on a five-year capital
program.
